EVENT
This is the non-interactive version. One hour in the privacy of your chosen environment, either watching Judith as she speaks and invites you to follow, or closing your eyes and allowing your body to respond.
Judith writes:
Feeling completely at ease in your body, no matter how it is, relaxes all the trying. That’s
the silently trying to ignore reality. Trying to be better, stronger, fitter, less tired, more able, better looking, more confident, more rested, and so on.
When that perpetual, silent not enough stops, most of us experience exhaustion. All that self-made pressure has been gobbling up energy.
But with guidance, that can be turned around in just minutes. Whatever it is you would like to change - more of this or less of that – is most efficiently done beginning with here now, this is how it is. This is how I am.
Your body, my body, is amazing. Whatever we throw at it, however much low-noise, constant tension we oblige it to accommodate, it does its best to function. Yes, we may have aches and pains, be suffering injury or disease, have difficulty with this or that, but nonetheless here we are, able to receive on the in-breath, giving back on the out-breath, able to read this, and to experience what these words uniquely mean to us. Perhaps even how they make us feel.
Being kind to your body means expressing in some way hello, thanks and sorry for that and
here I am now.
You are invited to join Judith for an hour’s online session on Body Kindness. Any condition, any true starting place, is just perfect. You don’t have to be fit, well and able. But if you are, how lovely, let’s deepen the potential.
You will be guided by me, both visually if you choose to look, and vocally if you’d prefer to close your eyes, to make small movements, rhythmically. This to be done on the curve of the breath, either the inhalation or exhalation. The rise and fall of my voice - how I speak - is part of the process. I am accompanying your physical form. I’ve been doing this for years. My experience of this is that bodies are delighted to be met. Just as they are. Sometimes I use sound to communicate. No words. I’ll let you know in advance if that is coming.
We will begin sitting. On an armless chair (arms get in the way of movement) or on the floor if you prefer. Whatever your choice, you need to be properly upright – using a cushion for extra support if needed – and, most importantly, comfortable. No “should”s. Later, I’ll invite you to lie down on your back. Of course, you can if you prefer just listen and watch as I move my body.
For that hour you will need to be uninterrupted in a place that’s restful to you, with space to lie down as well as a chair, or space to sit on the floor. Join from anywhere in the world. And if, as happened in our earlier session, you blissfully fall asleep towards the end, please, no self-judgment. Enjoy.
